A lot has changed since this piece was written. Ethereum is now much more than an “appcoin” as defined here — its a social movement with it’s own digital currency and it’s attracting new developers to the ecosystem and enabling new use cases. I once was a Bitcoin maximalist as well but there’s undeniable innovation happening outside of Bitcoin and it’s possible that other digital currencies serve people that Bitcoin can’t or won’t.
